I was called one morning a few months ago to a primipara in a neighbouring village, who stated that she had been in labour for about five hours, and that the waters had broken about half an hour before my arrival. On proceeding to examine the patient, I found that there had evidently been a very copious discharge of liquor amnii, since the sheets were completely soaked with it.
